Hi! My name is Angie Ostraat and I am here to help support children, teens and women to start living their best life. I believe that counseling does not have to be a stuffy, uncomfortable experience. We can have fun and laugh a bit throughout the process because sometimes we need to laugh at the craziness life brings.

I have more than 12 years of experience working with children and teens and am trained in EMDR. Whether you are looking for a counselor for your child or teenager and need help navigating the challenges of parenting, or you are looking for a counselor for yourself to balance life’s stress or work through a traumatic experience you’ve had, I am here to help.

As a fellow parent, I understand the joys and sometimes the heartaches of parenthood. I have worked with children and teens in various capacities over the last 10 years of my career and enjoy helping children to overcome behavioral challenges and supporting parents through the difficult times. I am particularly interested in working with oppositional and defiant children and teens, so if you are looking for support in getting through to your argumentative child, I am here to help with that and to guide you and support you through that process.

I am also trained in EMDR, so I understand the impact of traumatic experiences on the mind, body and emotions. If your child has experienced a trauma, I am here to help them to safely process that trauma and to work toward healing. And because trauma can be complex and confusing to those who have not experienced it, I am here to be a voice for your child to help you to better understand your child’s experience and to know how you can help.

I look forward to working together with you to help your child or teen through whatever challenges he or she is facing and to help support you through the process.

Balancing and attempting to juggle day-to-day stressors is not always easy. If you are experiencing challenges related to life-balance, parenting and stress, I am here to offer support and guidance. As a working mom, I am aware of the strain that can occur when life pulls us in many directions. I am here to support you as you take that first step towards finding balance in your life.
