Hello!
My name is Ashley Woodley. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Supervisee working towards obtaining my LPC-MH, the next level of my professional license. I enjoy working with children and their families to help them live their best lives. I work primarily with children ages 2-10 along with their parents/caregivers or family.
Asking for help for your child is not an easy task. After taking that first step, I will be here to help you and your child. I am not here to judge or criticize; my job is to meet you and your child where you are at, start there, and then move forward together. Together, we will develop goals that fit your child’s needs and work together to obtain them.
I take a play-based, non-directive, child centered approach in therapy, which allows the child to take the lead in sessions. This approach allows your child to feel respected and comfortable during the counseling process by utilizing toys and play–your child’s language–to help the therapist to understand your child’s world, while also supporting your child’s desire to play an active role in their counseling experience. I have also completed level one Theraplay® training, which is an attachment-based therapy that directly works with repairing and strengthening the relationships between caregivers and children.
Some of the populations that I have experience working with include ADHD, anxiety, attachment, Autism, behavioral challenges, depression, and trauma. I am also able to help with parenting concerns and parenting education. Throughout this process, we will be a team to help your child.
As soon as you are ready to ask for help, call our office or click below to schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you.
