As a child care professional, you’ve no doubt run into a strong-willed child who has made your job incredibly challenging. Spending time with a strong-willed child each day is emotionally and intellectually draining as it is common for most interactions to become argumentative and many of the traditional techniques for behavior modification prove to be unsuccessful with this type of personality.
In this presentation, child care professionals will learn how to change the interaction pattern they have with strong-willed children, from a traditional one-size-fits-all approach to a more personalized approached tailored to meet the strong-willed personality. They will leave with specific techniques they can use immediately with strong-willed children in their program to decrease power struggles and encourage cooperation, without destroying the child’s spirit in the process.
